Five decisions that make Exaro different
Most AI tools for Unreal sell you a chat box and a token meter. Exaro sells neither. Here are the five choices behind it: your own AI, dollars instead of credits, a store the agent can shop, imports that land right, and a free plan with no catch.
There are a growing number of ways to put an AI in front of Unreal Engine. Most of them share a shape: a chat panel, a model the vendor picked for you, and a meter that charges per message. We built Exaro Studio around five decisions that go the other way.
1. You bring the AI you already pay for
Exaro is an MCP server, not an AI service. It exposes the Unreal editor as tools, and any MCP client can call them: Claude, Codex, Cursor, or whatever you use next year. Your keys, your subscription, your choice of model.
That means there are no Exaro AI tokens and no request metering. A plan unlocks the toolset. How hard you work it is your business, not a line on our invoice. It also means that when a better model ships, you switch clients and Exaro keeps working, because the tools never depended on the model.
2. The store is in the editor, and your agent can shop it
Every other route to a marketplace asset goes through a browser tab, a download, an unzip and an import wizard. Exaro's marketplace is one more tool your copilot can call.
The catalog is tagged for machine search rather than for a human scrolling thumbnails: type, style, material, mood. Ask for "a weathered courtyard with a stone fountain and an iron gate" and the agent finds the fountain and the gate on its own, then shows you exactly what it wants to buy and what it costs.
Purchasing needs a human yes, every time. The copilot never spends without putting the price and your balance in front of you first.
3. Dollars, not credits
Assets are priced in plain dollars, from $1.49 to $6.99, and you can see the price before you sign in. Plans grant a monthly dollar balance instead of an abstract credit pool, so you always know what a purchase costs and what is left.
Balance rolls over while you subscribe. If a scene needs more than the balance covers, you pay the difference by card and carry on. Cancel and you keep every file you bought, with its commercial license.
4. Imports land right, or they are not finished
The expensive part of using a marketplace asset is rarely finding it. It is the axis that is flipped, the scale that is off by a hundred, the skeleton that does not match your retargeter. Every studio has lost afternoons to that.
Exaro imports a purchase into your project at the correct axis and scale, and onto the target skeleton when the asset has one. Our production line makes the assets, so we can make that promise at the source rather than hoping a third party's export settings agree with yours. The listing shows the real file too: spin it, count its triangles, play a full-length audio preview, before you pay.
5. Free means free
The Free plan has no card and no trial clock. It gives you in-editor chat on your own keys, every read-only inspection tool, and the full marketplace to browse.
The line is simple: tools that read your project are free, tools that change it are paid. You can point your AI at a real project today, ask it what is in there, and decide whether the paid tools are worth it with evidence instead of a demo video.
None of these is a feature you could bolt onto a chat panel later. They are the shape of the product. If they sound like the way you want to work, the Free plan is the fastest way to find out.
